Thomas Wright was born 11 Apr 1777 in North Carolina or South Carolina. He died 4 Mar 1851 in Greene, Illinois.
He was buried at Hickory Grove Cemetery, Greene, Illinois.
I can not remember the name of the lady who sent me this source - I have photocopies of information but I've forgotten her name. : (
One of her sources was 1885 History of Greene County Illinois
"Thomas Wright, Sr. , one of the early settlers, came to Greene county in the fall of 1833, and entered 240 acres of land in Wrights township, 80 of which was timber land. He was a widower at that time, but he returned to Barren county, Ky., that fall, and was married to mary Snowden, a native of that county, Nov. 12, 1833. The following March, Mr. Wirght returned to this county and resided upon the farm now owned by JK Farrelly, until the fall of 1834, when, having erected a cabin, he removed his family therto. He was bornin North Carolina, Aug. 11, 1777, and spent his early life there. He afterwardremoved to kentucky, where he was married to Elizabeth B. Bell (sic), a nativeof that state. They were the parents of eight children - George M., felix P., Margaret, Stephen, Elizabeth, Elenor, Parmelia, and White. All are deceased except Elizabeth, and George M. The former resides in Christian county, Ill., and the latter at Sedalia, Mo. Mrs. Wright the first wife, died in Kentucky. By hissecond marriage to mary Snowden, who was born Jan 30, 1796, there were four children - Andrew J., Thomas, Robert W., and Nancy, deceased. Mr. Wright's death occurred March 3, 1851, and his wife survived him until Dec. 11, 1869, when she, too, passed away."
